Project '06 - Galway

I like the idea of PROJECT '06 - Galway putting more focus free open events rather than the closed door corporate approach the Galway Arts Festival has been moving towards in recent years. Here's their pitch - Project '06 is a group of Galway-based artists, arts groups and promoters. We support the Galway Arts Festival and want it to develop and prosper. We believe, however, that there are problems with the Galway component of the Arts Festival Programme. Gugai, one of the organisers put it - We felt that some of the colour and excitement had gone, it was more of an international festival and wasn't as much about having fun in Galway. Luckily I'll be in Galway over the next couple of weeks to see how it works out.
